Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a high school setting just northeast of Denver. This full-time position spans the academic year from August 3, 2026, to May 21, 2027, and promises a dynamic environment where your skills and compassion will make a direct impact on students’ lives.

In this role, you will work within a Significant Support Needs classroom, guiding and supporting a small caseload of 9 students. You’ll be an essential collaborator, working alongside three dedicated paraprofessionals to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching Licensure issued by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
• Solid experience working with high school students with significant support needs, preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to partner with paraprofessionals, families, and school staff
• Creative, flexible approach when adapting lessons and supports to individual student goals
• Commitment to promoting educational equity and student empowerment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals within the classroom to ensure consistent and effective support for all students
• Foster a positive, safe, and engaging classroom community using research-based strategies
• Communicate regularly with parents, specialists, and administrators to ensure student needs are being met
• Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare required reports in compliance with district and state guidelines
