About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Previous Charge RN experience required. Must be flexible with scheduling and aware of a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences. Travel experience is required. EKG exam pass/fail testing is mandatory for all RNs regardless of specialty. Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care to orthopedic patients, as well as medical-surgical patients. The unit offers telemetry monitoring and a physical therapy gym, allowing patients to receive adequate therapy without leaving the unit. High-volume patient populations will include those who have undergone total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and other surgical procedures. Moderate volume will consist of patients with various surgical needs, as well as inpatient and 24-hour observation patients. This position requires the ability to work as a Charge RN when necessary and involves floating to other areas as needed. The nurse will perform various procedures including managing ports, blood product administration, and wound care. Flexibility to work every other weekend is required, along with the ability to manage a patient ratio of 5-6 patients. Candidates must provide a strong aptitude for patient care in a fast-paced environment.
