Employment Litigation & Counseling Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join a leading Am Law 100 law firm and its sophisticated Employment practice.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling employment litigation and counseling matters , with the ability to advise employers on workplace issues, compliance requirements, and employment-related disputes.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of employment matters, including litigation, investigations, workplace counseling, employment agreements and policies, and compliance training.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, wage and hour disputes, non-compete issues, and breach of contract claims .
• Advise employers on employment-related compliance and workplace issues.
• Provide day-to-day employment and HR counseling.
• Draft and review employment policies, agreements, and other employment-related documents.
• Conduct workplace investigations and provide strategic legal guidance based on findings.
• Develop and deliver employment-related compliance training.
• Conduct legal research and analyze applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practices to provide comprehensive client solutions.
• Manage multiple matters independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and client service.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of employment law experience.
• Experience litigating employment matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
• Experience advising employers on employment-related compliance matters.
• Experience drafting employment policies and employment-related agreements.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations.
• Experience delivering employment-related compliance training.
• J.D. or LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Massachusetts Bar, or eligibility for admission, required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound judgment and ability to provide practical legal advice.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take ownership of matters and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $260,000–$390,000 annually , depending on qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus .
