Overview We are seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect – OMNI / Connected Commerce & AI to join the Enterprise Architecture Group within the CTO Organization. This strategic leadership role will drive the vision, architecture, and execution of next‑generation connected commerce platforms that deliver seamless, intelligent, and personalized customer experiences across digital and physical channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining enterprise architecture strategies spanning Digital Commerce, Retail Stores, Supply Chain, Customer Data, Marketing, Fulfillment, and AI‑powered customer engagement. This role will serve as a key change agent driving omnichannel transformation, AI‑enabled commerce, and enterprise modernization initiatives. Job Details Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite) Contract Duration: 12+ Months Rate Range: $75-$95/hr on W2 Responsibilities Architect future‑ready omnichannel commerce platforms supporting capabilities such as BOPIS, Same‑Day Delivery, Endless Aisle, and Unified Customer Experiences. Design AI‑powered customer experiences including predictive personalization, dynamic pricing, virtual styling, conversational commerce, and autonomous checkout journeys. Drive adoption of Agentic Commerce architectures, including autonomous shopping agents, AI assistants, and intelligent fulfillment orchestration. Integrate commerce platforms with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), recommendation engines, decisioning platforms, loyalty systems, and AI models. Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams to implement AI‑driven capabilities across the customer lifecycle. Define enterprise architecture standards supporting AI/ML scalability, cloud‑native platforms, serverless computing, and data mesh strategies. Design architectures that enable real‑time event processing using clickstream, POS, IoT, and customer interaction data. Lead architecture governance, technical reviews, and solution approvals for connected commerce and AI initiatives. Evaluate and guide adoption of Generative AI, LLMs, autonomous agents, and emerging commerce technologies. Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI standards. Develop long‑term technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and enterprise modernization goals. Influence executive stakeholders and cross‑functional teams on strategic technology decisions. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. 10+ years of enterprise architecture leadership experience. 5+ years of experience leading commerce, retail, or omnichannel transformation initiatives. Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise commerce platforms. Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, digital transformation, and technology modernization. Experience designing customer‑centric digital commerce ecosystems. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills. Ability to define enterprise architecture strategy while supporting delivery execution. Knowledge of composable commerce and MACH architecture principles. Retail, CPG, eCommerce, or Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) industry experience. Experience implementing personalization, recommendation engines, and omnichannel engagement solutions. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Additional Information This is a highly strategic and influential architecture leadership role within the CTO organization. The position spans multiple enterprise domains including Retail, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Customer Data, Marketing, Fulfillment, and AI. Candidates should possess a strong balance of business strategy, architecture leadership, and emerging technology expertise. Experience driving AI-enabled customer experiences and enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives is highly preferred.
