K-8: Operations Manager - Boston, MA (2026-2027)

Job Description Operations Manager at KIPP Academy Boston Charter School ensures that the school operations effectively serve and support students, families, and school staff. Reporting to the Director of School Operations (DSO), the Operations Manager works closely with the Operations Team to support budgeting, organization, and logistics, fostering a culture of joy, excellence, care, and community. Key Responsibilities Strategic Projects Manage year‑long and short‑term strategic projects around the school. Engage in and manage projects from beginning to end with little initial direction. Manage upward when needed and obtain information needed to accomplish objectives. Identify and fix problems; refine processes when improvement is possible. Personnel Management Oversee the staff and day‑to‑day operations of the Nutrition Team. Lead weekly one‑on‑one meetings with all direct reports. Develop professional development plans for all direct reports. Manage performance review processes for all direct reports. School‑Wide Logistics Management Manage all testing and assessments K‑8, including MCAS. Coordinate transportation for all students in partnership with BPS transportation and private vendors. Support the DSO in managing the school‑wide calendar and field trips K‑8. Oversee daily school‑wide systems such as arrival, lunch/recess, dismissal, and late pick‑up. Manage supply ordering, space reservations, and other logistics. Budget Support DSOs in managing the school‑wide budget. Assist with inputting receipts for school credit cards. Understand system coding processes. Nutrition Ensure all certifications and permits are current. Track daily meal consumption with the Nutrition team. Order meals for students, complying with standards and allergies. Complete monthly reimbursements and annual compliance reviews. Maintain ServSafe certification and provide cafeteria coverage as needed. Operations Team Support Assist the DSO with all campus matters. Attend DSO trainings as required. Serve as second in command for DSO responsibilities when necessary. Support and cover the front desk as needed. Other duties as assigned by the School Leader or DSO. Leadership Seek and implement feedback from stakeholders, offering feedback respectfully and timely. Uphold a positive, nurturing, achievement‑oriented school culture. Maintain professionalism at all times. Work relentlessly to meet development and functional goals. Possess physical mobility and strength sufficient for routine duties, including lifting up to 20 pounds. Have manual dexterity to perform repetitive motions and operate computers and office equipment. Qualifications Deep alignment with KIPP MA’s mission and values. Demonstrated ability to drive student growth and create a warm, inclusive, rigorous environment. Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suite applications; Excel formula experience is required. Multi‑lingual skills (strongly preferred). 2+ years of full‑time teaching experience (strongly preferred). Bachelor’s degree preferred. Pass Criminal Background Checks. What We Offer The minimum base salary range for this exempt position is $60,000 to $75,000 (per 1.0 FTE/45 hours per week) with a $1,000 signing bonus and an annual $2,000 retention bonus in subsequent years, along with other eligible bonuses.
