Senior Accountant – Corporate & Grant Accounting
Location: New York, NY
A well-known NYC nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both corporate accounting and grant accounting, supporting financial reporting, month-end close, and the oversight of grant-related financial activity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Support corporate accounting, financial reporting, and the preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee grant accounting activities, including tracking grant revenue, expenditures, and funding allocations.
- Assist with grant budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate financial records, effective controls, and timely reporting.
- Support audit preparation and ongoing improvements to accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Exposure to grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, or restricted funding is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
