About the Opportunity:

• This is an hourly position that offers competitive pay and flexible scheduling
• Substitutes will be scheduled for a variety of shifts Monday through Friday, covering morning and afternoon sessions
• The position reports to the Center Director and offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment
• As a Substitute, you will not have supervisory responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to different locations within the district, including Ashland, Chester, Colonial Heights, Mechanicsville, Midlothian, and Richmond, to cover positions
• Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of our students
• Support children's learning, play, mealtime, and rest periods, promoting a nurturing environment
• Establish and maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring classroom space
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop creative and innovative curriculum ideas
• Communicate with families through mobile apps and regular updates, fostering strong relationships
• Assist with various duties, including lunch coverage, breaks, and other tasks as assigned

What You Need to Succeed:

• Willingness to work flexible hours based on program needs
• Ability to meet Virginia licensing standards and pass a background check
• Active enrollment in an accredited program may be considered with experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role for a licensed childcare or educational facility required
• CDA, ECE certificate, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field (or equivalent coursework)
