Seeking a Microelectronics Assembler for an exciting contract opportunity with potential for long-term employment in Chelmsford, MA. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in assembling and testing advanced electronic products and systems, working with components that range from microscopic to larger sizes. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, an interest in electronics, and a strong desire to learn and grow within a dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products by following detailed work instructions, drawings, and documented processes.
• Use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to ensure assemblies meet all quality and performance requirements.
• Read and interpret assembly process documentation, work instructions, and related procedures with a high level of accuracy.
• Handle and assemble microscopic to large electronic components, using visual magnification tools as needed to perform precise work.
• Operate various hand tools such as tweezers, rulers, cutters, and pneumatic tools including torque drivers and screwdrivers to perform assembly tasks.
• Maintain accurate data entry and production records in digital systems to support traceability and process control.
• Collaborate with team members to improve throughput, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to a positive, efficient production environment.
• Follow established ESD procedures and safety practices when working with sensitive electronic components.
• Support testing activities as needed using electronic test equipment in accordance with work instructions.
• Adhere to all quality, safety, and operational standards while consistently meeting production goals and deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate digital systems for timekeeping, accessing work instructions, and confirming tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform precise work with small and microscopic components.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to learn and apply standards such as J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610.
• Experience with electrical and/or micro-electronics assembly preferred.
• Knowledge of ESD procedures and familiarity with electronic test equipment.
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as tweezers, rulers, cutters, and pneumatic tools including torque drivers and screwdrivers.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Eligibility to obtain an interim security clearance as a condition of starting in the position.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability, and a demonstrated desire to grow and learn in the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical or electrical assembly environments.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings for assembly tasks.
• Experience in soldering and wiring work within an ESD-controlled environment.
• Comfort working with microscopes and magnification tools for microelectronics assembly.
• Previous experience in production or manufacturing settings.
• Interest in developing expertise with industry standards such as J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
• Motivation to contribute to continuous improvement and throughput optimization.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production facility in Chelmsford, MA, working with microelectronics and advanced electronic systems. The standard schedule follows a second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with the possibility of overtime as business needs require. Selected candidates will initially train on first shift for approximately one month, working a full-time day schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The environment involves working at benches and workstations using microscopes, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electronic test equipment, with strict adherence to ESD controls and quality standards. Team members collaborate closely to meet production goals and support continuous improvement, creating a structured, safety-conscious, and growth-oriented workplace.

This is a Contract position based out of Chelmsford, MA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
