Registered Nurse - MICU

Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse

Schedule: 3x12's / 36 Hours / Every Other Weekend

On-call: None

Estimated Patient Ratios: 1:1-2

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience. EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

Certifications Required:

• BCLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• AHA Certifications only

Skills Required:

• Proficient in IV start
• Experience with telemetry
• Competency with ventilators

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Proficiency in EPIC documentation system

Specialized Experience in:

• Multisystem Organ Failure
• Respiratory Failure
• COVID
• Sepsis
• Post-Cardiac Arrest
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Liver Failure
• Renal Failure

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Hyperglycemia
• Externalized IV Pumps for COVID+ Patients

Special Equipment Knowledge:

• NxStage CRRT
• Alaris IV Pump
• GE Cardiac Monitor
• GE Ventilator
• Boom Lift in Each Patient Room

Parking Options for Travelers:

• WMC Agency Permit $215/month Guaranteed parking in an OSUWMC visitor garage. Best option for travelers who want the closest and most reliable parking.
• CXS Permit $31.42/month Includes shuttle service every 1530 minutes, but service is limited. The route has multiple stops and drops off about a street over from OSUWMC. Best suited for Jameson Crane Sports Medicine. Also includes access to 9th Ave Garages (East and West) on weekends and holidays.
• WB Permit $15.67/month Most affordable option. Parking is in West Campus Carmack Lots 2 and 3, about 1.7 miles from OSUWMC. The Pink shuttle runs every 35 minutes during peak start/end times and goes directly to the medical center in about 89 minutes. Also includes access to 9th Ave Garages (East and West) on weekends and holidays. Weekend access is from Friday at 2 PM through Monday at 8 AM; outside those hours, regular hourly garage rates apply.
