Step into a vital role supporting student success as a contract physical therapist working across one to two schools in a dynamic, district-wide setting. You'll have the rewarding opportunity to nurture the physical development and independence of students, helping them achieve their educational and functional goals within a collaborative, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include working closely with a manageable caseload of 10-15 students during school hours from 7:20 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. Your focus will be on assessing student needs, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and collecting essential data on IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. You'll communicate and collaborate with IEP teams—teachers, parents, administrators, and other specialists—playing a crucial part in shaping and evaluating student progress.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois licensure as a Physical Therapist
• Experience or strong interest in school-based or pediatric physical therapy
• Proven ability to develop and implement tailored therapy plans for students with diverse needs
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledgeable in collecting and analyzing data to monitor student progress and goal attainment
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough student assessments and document findings
• Design and deliver interventions aligned with each student’s IEP
• Track progress and adjust therapy as needed according to data collected
• Consult with team members to ensure therapy supports classroom learning and participation
• Maintain accurate records and timely communication with stakeholders
