Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Work in a supportive, well-resourced high school environment, guiding students in a lower functioning, self-contained classroom focused on functional curriculum. With two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician collaborating alongside you, you'll have the resources needed to help every student reach their fullest potential.

This role covers the 2026-2027 academic year, kicking off August 4th, 2026, and concluding May 26th, 2027. Additional pre- and post-planning days may be included. This is a full-time, 37.5–40 hour per week position. Candidates who excel may be considered for continued employment in the following school year.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Georgia SPED GaPSC Certification, with content preparation through 8th grade
• Possess or be eligible for the Adapted Curriculum Endorsement (pending credentials considered)
• Experience or enthusiasm for working in a self-contained classroom setting supporting diverse, lower-functioning learners
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals, behavioral staff, and school teams
• Committed to building positive, inclusive classroom communities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized special education instruction aligned with IEP goals and adapted curriculum frameworks
• Lead and model functional academic, life, and social skills in a self-contained classroom
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and behavior technicians to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment
• Communicate proactively with families and support staff regarding student growth and needs
• Engage in professional development and contribute to ongoing school initiatives
