Mechanical Engineer

Engineering Position in Chatsworth, CAJoin our team in Chatsworth, CA. As part of our engineering team, you will support higher-level engineers in the design and analysis of mechanical components. You will develop, design, and modify components to meet defined requirements and prepare necessary documentation to define products and verify analytics. Your role involves providing technical assistance to internal departments, suppliers, and customers, with guidance from senior engineers, and supporting peer reviews of generated component documents, drawings, operating procedures, and work instructions.Essential FunctionsDevelop new products and modify existing products with guidance from senior engineers to support customer, regulatory, industry standards, and market requirements.Perform trade studies to optimize design solutions.Create or calculate tolerance stack-ups, and perform reliability and Failure Modes and Effects analyses.Prepare and review documentation required to define and control products. Support design reviews with customers and internally as required.Create and implement test procedures for products based on product requirements and customer specifications.Monitor testing and analyze data to verify product performance against customer and design specifications. Review and recommend approval or disapproval of test reports.Support failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings.Provide technical support to all internal departments, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product, with guidance from senior engineers.Participate in defining engineering approaches, including planning and scheduling work and participating in cost reduction activities.Ensure the successful completion of the assigned project phase within budgeted time and cost constraints.Complete other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.2-4 years of experience in the aerospace industry; experience in other industries with the development and manufacture of electro-mechanical components can be considered in lieu of aerospace experience.Knowledge of design and/or operation of mechanical processes in support of aerospace parts.Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 standards, tolerance analysis, computer-aided design, and solid modeling.Fundamental engineering analysis skills.Working knowledge of practical manufacturing techniques, quality assurance requirements, and all factors affecting product/program costs.Preferred knowledge of analytical tools such as SolidWorks and its analysis suite.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organize, prepare, and present materials to customers, suppliers, and company management at all levels.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
