About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean for its College of Nursing, which is a leading institution in nursing education. The successful candidate will be the chief academic and administrative officer, responsible for providing a vision and leadership that upholds the College's tradition of excellence in research, scholarship, instruction, and outreach. This role involves strategic leadership in higher education, overseeing the College's evolution, and ensuring that its vision aligns with the University's strategic plan. The Dean will also be expected to support the success of faculty and staff, maintain academic excellence, and enhance external partnerships, including engaging in the University's Rural Health Initiative. Applicants for the Dean position must have a Ph.D. or D.N.P., a graduate degree in nursing, and a strong academic and professional background that qualifies for a tenured professorship. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare, the nursing profession, and nursing education, and a proven track record of advancing academic excellence. They should be adept at fostering a culture of research and scholarship, particularly in a new Ph.D. program, and have exceptional relationship-building skills to engage with external partners and alumni. The Dean will be expected to have a leadership style that is collegial, collaborative, and committed to shared decision-making, with a focus on supporting the success and development of all faculty and staff.
