As a Director, Research Operations II for the Florida Market, you will lead research operational activities for a medium or smaller research area of moderate or lower complexity in support of enterprise Institutes or Departments. In this role, you will serve as the administrative leader for assigned research departments, programs, markets, and/or shared services, reporting generally to an Executive Director or Senior Director, Research Operations and collaborating with research leaders. You will oversee multiple diverse groups and leverage departmental and program leaders to manage the component parts of assigned areas.A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.A caregiver who excels in this role will: Lead in a matrixed environment and act as the liaison between researchers and research leaders.Oversee the administrative aspects of research activities in clinical or biomedical or shared services research.Assure that they are conducted efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines and throughput is meeting service level expectations.Work closely with research leaders to ensure service level expectations are managed and supported.Provide key information and updates to inform routine clinical or biomedical or shared services research operation reviews. Direct strategy and growth, implementation, research and shared services productivity, financial performance, compliance and risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. Direct and implements strategic plans for research administration in alignment with the Enterprise Research goals and objectives.Lead people in a complex environment, setting meaningful goals and ensuring accountability in achievement.Select top talent and build leadership succession through development and coaching. Provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities for research team members. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within research operations.Advise the Research leadership regarding various processes including integration activities, human resources, space, support or shared services, compliance and requirements to achieve specified goals and objectives.Research, perform analysis, compile data and advise Research leadership relative to short and long-range planning strategies, personnel management, patient relations, space and equipment, and external relations. Maintain an effective organizational structure and ensure proper staffing with skilled and trained personnel.Monitor processes and recommend and implement improvements to ensure maximum service.Direct the financial operations for the assigned research areas, including budget development, expense and revenue analysis, evaluation of research support and shared services and development activities.Provide reporting to Research leadership as required.The level of the Director Research Operations (I or II) is determined by complexity guidelines and factors managed by Enterprise Research. Enterprise Research approves leveling of each Research administrative leader in partnership with the Caregiver Office.Other duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field Eight years of professional and functionally relevant experienceFive years of demonstrated leadership and management experience(Master's degree in a relevant field may offset up to two years of experience requirement)Knowledge of budgeting, cost analysis, manpower planning, supervision, compliance and operational analysisExcellent analytical skills and business acumenStrong verbal and written communicationPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Master’s Degree Physical Requirements:Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information. Ability to travel throughout the health system.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.Pay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
