Why we’re looking for you We’re building MarketDash into a category-leading investing and financial education brand, and YouTube will be one of our most important growth channels. We’re looking for a multifaceted creative who can own our long-form YouTube content from idea to final upload. You’ll develop video concepts, write compelling hooks, plan productions, shoot footage, edit videos, direct packaging, and analyze performance to continuously improve results. This is not a role where you simply manage a team and hand off the creative work. We want someone who is willing and able to get behind the camera, direct a shoot, open an editing timeline, and produce an excellent video themselves. As the channel grows, you’ll have the opportunity to build and lead a team of editors, thumbnail designers, videographers, and content strategists. You’ll help turn MarketDash into a media company that happens to have a world-class software product. The impact you’ll have Own MarketDash’s long-form YouTube strategy, including content pillars, formats, programming, and publishing cadence. Develop video ideas and turn them into compelling concepts, titles, thumbnails, hooks, and outlines. Shoot high-quality videos, including talking-head content, interviews, educational videos, product demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes footage. Edit long-form YouTube videos with a strong focus on storytelling, pacing, retention, sound design, graphics, and viewer experience. Direct on-camera talent during shoots, ask follow-up questions, and capture the footage needed to create engaging videos. Create run-of-show documents, scripts, shot lists, and production plans. Manage the entire production process from pre-production through filming, editing, review, and publishing. Lead thumbnail and title testing, including A/B tests across new videos and the existing catalogue. Maintain a YouTube performance scorecard covering click-through rate, retention, average view duration, view velocity, subscriber growth, and business impact. Conduct regular retention reviews and use analytics to identify opportunities to improve future videos. Research YouTube trends, competitive channels, emerging formats, and new platform features. Coordinate with marketing and social media teams to repurpose long-form content into Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other distribution channels. Build and manage a creative team as the channel scales, while maintaining a high standard for quality and performance. Help develop a recognizable brand identity and content style that differentiates MarketDash from traditional financial media. What we’re looking for 3+ years of experience producing, editing, or managing YouTube content, with a portfolio of videos you personally helped create. Proven ability to shoot and edit professional-quality video content. Strong understanding of YouTube ideation, thumbnails, titles, storytelling, and retention editing. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable editing software. Experience operating cameras, lighting, microphones, and other production equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas. Analytical instincts and the ability to use performance data to make better creative decisions. Experience managing creative workflows, freelancers, or production teams. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and execute without needing constant direction. Interest in investing, financial education, business, AI, and technology. Enthusiasm for using AI tools and automation to improve creative production and media workflows. Ability to work full-time from our Los Angeles office. Nice to have Experience growing a YouTube channel from an early stage, knowledge of motion graphics or Photoshop, experience producing founder‑led content, and a track record of creating videos that generate measurable business results. Who you’ll work with You’ll work directly with MarketDash’s founder and leadership team to shape our media strategy and build a high-performing content operation. You’ll collaborate with marketing, product, and sales to ensure our content is both genuinely valuable to viewers and aligned with the company’s growth. Pay and benefits Compensation: $4,000–$6,000 per month, with the opportunity to grow to $10,000 per month based on experience, performance, and expanded responsibilities. This is an opportunity to join an early‑stage, fast‑growing company and take ownership of a major growth channel. As MarketDash scales, the role can grow into a Head of YouTube or broader Media leadership position, with the opportunity to build your own team and lead a significant content operation.
