The Clinical Trials Office is a centralized clinical research office that supports clinical researchers in all disciplines within the Cancer Center. Our office promotes and facilitates clinical research by providing comprehensive services to physicians conducting clinical trials while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.The Clinical Research Coordinator I (CRC I) works under general supervision to support the team in enrolling eligible patients on oncology clinical trials and ensuring all protocol mandated assessments are completed as required to comply with institutional and federal regulations governing clinical research. This position involves direct patient contact.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Job duties will be performed under general supervision by the Clinical Research Manager.The following list provides some examples of the duties which may be required in the CRC 1 role; however tasks will be adapted depending on the needs of the team:Assist clinical team in screening potential patients for study participationSchedule all protocol required tests and proceduresCoordinate patient appointments with physicians, nurses, and all test areasCoordinate and schedule clinical safety laboratory specimen draws and ensure timely results are available to providersPrepare pre-visit communication for providers to ensure required assessments are completed and documentedMaintain point of contact communication with enrolled patients and assist with front line questions regarding study participationDevelop protocol specific flow charts, intake sheets, and other tools to ensure protocol compliance and proper data acquisitionCoordinate, obtain, process, and ship protocol required tissue samplesEnsure collection, processing (e.g. spin/separate/freeze) and send out of required correlative research blood samples.Obtain vital signs and perform EKGs as required for individual studiesAdminister quality of life assessments as required for individual studiesSKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Careful attention to detailGood organizational skillsAbility to follow directionsGood communication skillsComputer literacyWorking knowledge of clinical research protocolsAbility to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects rights and individual needsWORKING CONDITIONS:Duties will primarily be performed in an ambulatory/clinical office settingWill require occasional travel between the various sites, as neededAccess to personal transport is requiredQualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree Related Field of Study requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?YesLicenses and CredentialsExperienceSome relevant research project work 0-1 year preferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCareful attention to detail and good organizational skills.Ability to follow directions.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Computer literacy.Working knowledge of clinical research protocols.Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs.Additional Job Details (if applicable)Remote TypeOnsiteWork Location102 Endicott StreetScheduled Weekly Hours40Employee TypeRegularWork ShiftDay (United States of America)Pay Range$21.00 - $29.01/HourlyGrade5At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
