Payroll Analyst 3We are seeking a full-time Payroll Analyst 3 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced payroll analysis, reconciliation, research, compliance and problem-solving activities that support accurate, compliant and efficient payroll operations independently. This role serves as an advanced payroll professional providing guidance on advanced payroll matters, leads projects and develops scalable solutions that improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, compliance and risk management.Essential Functions:Serve as a subject matter expert in payroll processing, time/attendance processing activities, systems and compliance mattersLeverage payroll knowledge to perform advanced payroll analysis and reconciliations across payroll cycles and related processesInvestigate complex payroll discrepancies and identifies root causes and appropriate resolutionsEnsure compliance with HR related legislation and regulations along with Garmin HR/Payroll policies with oversight from HR management and LegalEnsure payroll tax procedures are compliant with all governmental regulationsEnsure compliance with multi-state taxing jurisdiction and reportingMonitor and process restricted stock vesting activity to ensure accurate and compliant W-2 reportingComplete jurisdictional setups, changes and deletions, coordinating with Tax and Finance departmentsAssist with review of tax amendmentsCollaborate with ADP and handle responses to agency tax notices or auditsReview for auditing/compliance the administration of garnishments, child support orders, bankruptcies and levies according to local, state and federal regulationsAssist with biweekly journal entries into month end allocations for complianceAssist with responding to inquiries from Finance regarding journal entries and troubleshoot budget related inquiriesDevelop and provide advanced reporting using software reporting toolsDevelop and participate in process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency, accuracy and controlsLead projects of larger scope or workstreams within payrollIdentify, develop and maintain procedures, controls and process documentationWork collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates and perform as a solid contributor on cross functional teams to achieve goalsMaintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal informationProvide leadership, training and guidance to less experienced team membersBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or another related discipline AND a minimum of 5 years of work experience performing a substantially similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceAbility to perform advanced work requiring a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and consistencyAbility to work effectively with sensitive information in a confidential mannerMust possess proficient to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word and ExcelDemonstrates proficient to advanced knowledge of payroll processing, leveraging knowledge of payroll compliance and payroll tax regulationsDemonstrates proficient to advanced understanding of HR, Finance, and Payroll related legislation, practices, processes, programs and technologyAbility to apply broad-based payroll knowledge to business needs in a proactive manner and determine best practice to support organizational directionDemonstrated advanced problem solving and conflict resolution experienceDemonstrated experience leading projects and process improvementStrong ability to influence and collaborate across functionsDemonstrated experience coaching and mentoring less experienced payroll team membersAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environmentServe as a leader for demonstrating strong organizational skills with superior time management and follow-up skillsServe as a leader for demonstrating strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with othersDesired Qualifications:Experience working with ADP Vantage systemExperience working with UKG timekeeping systemPrevious experience with implementing and/or upgrading payroll or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) softwarePrevious experience processing payroll for 1000+ employeesFundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APAGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
