Payroll Specialist

The HT Group has an environmental services client in Creedmoor, TX looking for a Payroll Specialist who is detail-oriented, organized, and dependable to support weekly payroll processing and ensure accurate, timely payroll administration. This role will assist with payroll data entry, employee changes, payroll inquiries, recordkeeping, verifications, audits, and serve as a backup for end-to-end payroll processing as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Enter payroll data from reports and spreadsheets, including information for new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
• Maintain payroll documentation and records in accordance with established retention policies.
• Serve as backup to the Payroll Administrator and process payroll from beginning to end as needed.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and time-off policies.
• Handle payroll verification requests.
• Assist with gathering documentation and information for payroll audits.
• Support additional payroll-related programs and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of payroll best practices, accounting fundamentals, payroll legislation, and regulations.
• 5+ years of experience and proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
• Ability to accurately process payroll while meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field preferred.
