Product Repair Technician I- 1st Shift (6:30am-3:00pm, M-F Plus OT)

Position Summary : Identifies and repairs defects in Engineered Stone slabs.

Role Description: Inspection and repair of Engineered Stone materials based on quality specifications. Position includes operation of overhead crane and movement of finished slabs as well as WIP. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities:

· Examines materials or product for surface defects

· Verify specified dimensions of product or material as needed

· Repairs defective product and tracks repairs and results

· Confers with leadership staff to determine quality and reliability standards

· Performs related duties as needed and assigned

· Documents all completed repairs

· Gathers and properly stores materials for repair work to ensure we can perform repairs

· Will be relied upon to make sound decisions regarding disposition of slabs

· Maintains and tracks repair equipment and supplies to ensure we have stock.

· Manual operation of overhead crane

· Competent operation of Lift truck / Fork lift

Qualifications: Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:

Education and Work Experience:

· Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required

· Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

· Previous quality, inspection or repair experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

· Ability to communicate both verbal and written

· Ability to recognize potential problems to prevent issues

· Ability to make decisions quickly

· Ability to perform duties without constant supervision and to act in lead capacity for temp associates.

· Must have a strong attention to detail

· Must have the ability to find defects according to existing standards

Physical Demands:

· May encounter the following chemicals:

• Industrial Alcohol
• Powdered pigments

· Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

· Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time.

· Ability to work overtime hours as needed with little or no notification.
