Senior Professional Services Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Professional Services Consultant based in the United States.

This is a client-facing professional services role focused on delivering end-to-end sales compensation technology implementations. You will guide customers from requirements gathering and compensation-plan design through configuration, testing, and go-live. The role combines hands-on technical problem-solving with project leadership, customer communication, and strategic consulting. You will manage multiple implementations simultaneously while balancing customer expectations, delivery timelines, and internal priorities. You’ll work closely with Product, Customer Success, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes. The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with significant ownership and room to shape implementation best practices. Accountabilities

Lead full-cycle sales compensation technology implementations, covering requirements documentation, compensation-plan design, data modeling, configuration, build, user acceptance testing, and go-live.

Design efficient, scalable, and repeatable system configurations tailored to each customer's compensation plans and business requirements.

Serve as the primary client-facing contact throughout implementation engagements, building trusted relationships with customer administrators and stakeholders.

Own project timelines and priorities across multiple concurrent implementations while proactively managing expectations with customers and internal teams.

Scope new implementation and post-implementation services and contribute to related commercial discussions and negotiations.

Identify, communicate, and escalate project risks early to protect customer outcomes and implementation timelines.

Coordinate successful handoffs to Customer Success at go-live, ensuring documentation, context, and ownership are transferred effectively.

Develop deep expertise in sales compensation structures and apply best practices to different plan types and business models.

Collaborate with Product Management, Customer Success, Sales, and other teams to resolve customer needs and improve the overall implementation experience.

Maintain appropriate billable utilization while contributing to team initiatives, delivery improvements, and organizational priorities.

Help establish and adopt implementation standards and best practices that improve quality, consistency, and customer outcomes.

Requirements

6+ years of experience as a consultant or implementation professional, with demonstrated responsibility for leading projects or complex client engagements.

Professional experience with sales compensation, either as a consultant or as an in-house administrator/practitioner using compensation technology.

Strong understanding of data modeling, formulas, spreadsheets, and database concepts, with proficiency in Excel or comparable tools.

Ability to understand object-oriented and relational data concepts and apply them to implementation and configuration work.

Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to transition effectively between customer meetings, technical build work, and competing priorities.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Customer-focused approach with strong service instincts and the ability to build trusted relationships with client stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and recognize when additional guidance or collaboration is needed.

Comfort operating in a fast-changing SaaS or technology environment with ambiguity and evolving priorities.

Experience working within a SaaS or technology company.

Preferred: SQL experience.

Preferred: Experience implementing AI solutions or AI-enabled technologies.

Preferred: Experience with sales compensation platforms such as Xactly, Varicent, SAP Commissions, or similar solutions.

Preferred: Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or ERP systems such as NetSuite.

Benefits

Compensation:

$105,000–$140,000 annual OTE, with actual compensation depending on experience, proficiency, anticipated performance, and location.
