School Bus DriverSafely and efficiently transport authorized students along established routes while maintaining student safety, ensuring vehicle upkeep, and upholding all state, local, and district regulations.Qualifications:Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate passenger and school bus endorsements.Minimum safe driving record/experience as determined by the Board of Education.Sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor issues and perform basic maintenance.Demonstrated ability to maintain passenger discipline and ensure student well-beingKey Responsibilities:Perform mandatory pre- and post-trip safety inspections and complete the School Bus Condition Report.Verify that all students have safely exited the bus at the end of each route.Adhere strictly to established routes, designated stops, and time schedules.Perform routine light maintenance (e.g., check/fill fluid levels, add tire air, replace burned-out bulbs).Immediately report mechanical malfunctions or safety hazards to the Transportation Coordinator.Refuel the vehicle, track mileage, clean the interior daily, and wash windows/exterior as needed.Transport only authorized pupils; maintain order and manage student behavior.Enforce rules prohibiting smoking, eating, and drinking on the vehicle.Report severe or persistent student misconduct to the Transportation Coordinator.Conduct required emergency evacuation drills and instruct passengers on bus safety regulations.Strictly obey all traffic laws and school bus safety regulations.Immediately report all accidents and pupil injuries to the Transportation Coordinator, Building Principal, Superintendent, and School Business Administrator, and submit required written reports.Cell phone use is strictly prohibited while the bus is turned on or in gear. Operation is only permitted when the bus is parked with the engine off.Pay all fines and court costs and attend required safety classes if ticketed for a traffic violation during operation.Participate in required transportation safety training and perform other related duties as assigned.Compensation: $35 - $40 per hourBenefits: Full-time eligibility for medical, prescription, and dental coverage; paid sick and personal timeClosing Date: Open until filled.
