Job Description
Registered Nurse - Long Term Care

Schedule

Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. On-call and callback responsibilities may be required.

Assignment Details

Providing care for older adults in a long-term care environment, with a focus on geriatric residents. The facility typically has a staffing ratio of 1 RN for every 20 residents, 8-10 LPNs, and 4-6 CNAs.

Requirements

• NYS Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• At least 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience in medication administration and oversight of CNAs

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with dignity and respect
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for patient care
• Supervise and assist CNA staff
• Document patient care and progress accurately
• Address patient needs and concerns effectively
