Since 1818!The 2nd shift Operations Supervisor is responsible for safely leading contracted team members to meet and exceed our customer's quality and service expectations, as well as Libbey's cost, quality, and efficiency goals.This is a 2nd shift position with hours of 3:00pm – 11:00pm. Flexibility is required as hours will vary based on business needed.RESPONSIBILITIESPerform research and analysis; assist in the design and development of distribution processes which include quality, safety, cost reduction and operations to facilitate continuous process improvementEstablishes daily production goals and monitors intra-day performance to achieve these goalsWork closely with key stakeholders: Customer Service, Sales, Inventory Control, Finance etc. to ensure delivery of all key service objectivesLeads and participates in root cause analysis to identify problems and recommend changesMonitors production standards and develops programs to improve operational throughputObserves team member activities and work methods, recommends areas of opportunityCoaches team members towards meeting goalsAssists in training team members on distribution processes and equipmentAssists the DC Manager in problem resolution relating to production, standard operating procedures, safety and qualityEvaluates the performance of team members and communicates feedback regarding job performance and expectations in a timely mannerParticipates in distribution project teams, acting as a co-facilitator or facilitatorMay act as a project manager on assigned projectsMay serve on cross-functional teamsMay perform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 3+ years of multi-shift distribution center experienceHands-on experience with dock operations (LTL & TL)Experience managing shipping cutoffs and working under tight, time-sensitive conditionsTechnical skills in logistics processes and methods to include flow, cost efficiencies, engineered standards, equipment, safety and qualityFamiliarity with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience in Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan, Red Prairie) essentialAnalytical skills to include problem identification and resolutionAbility to multi-task in a rapidly changing, deadline driven work environment, with minimal mistakesAbility to lead and develop people utilizing excellent communication skillsA passion to grow personally and professionally, as well as develop others on your teamBilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferredAbility to safely operate a sit-down forklift and a reach-truck forkliftWORKING CONDITIONSMay be required to work weekends.May be required to work beyond scheduled hours based on operational needs.May be required to lift up-to 75 pounds.Must be capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods of time.Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes.May require the movement of mobile and fixed equipment.COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSTake Control: ask for the direction and support you need to attain mastery of your objectives and ownership of your professional development.Be Engaged & Committed: lean in to learn, engage, and contribute, resulting in increased performance and personal satisfaction from your work.Be Accountable: hold yourself responsible for achieving your goals and successfully executing against the organization's initiatives.Continuous Improvement Mindset: Act with curiosity, proactively identifying and implementing changes to enhance work processes and outcomes.
