Cardiologist

We are seeking a Board Certified Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist for a 26-week locum opportunity in New Jersey, beginning October 2026. This is an inpatient-focused assignment managing complex heart failure, LVAD, and transplant patients within a multidisciplinary Cardiology team.

Schedule

  • Inpatient coverage
  • 1:5 call rotation
  • Unrestricted call
  • High inpatient census

Practice Setting

  • Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology
  • Inpatient hospital setting
  • CCU and telemetry coverage
  • End-stage heart disease
  • Heart transplantation
  • LVAD and mechanical circulatory support
  • Epic EMR
  • No telehealth

Patient Population

  • Advanced Heart Failure patients
  • LVAD patients
  • Heart transplant patients
  • End-stage heart disease
  • Patients requiring mechanical circulatory support
  • Inpatient census varies and is described as high

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient Advanced Heart Failure coverage
  • Manage complex heart failure patients
  • Manage LVAD patients
  • Manage heart transplant patients
  • Manage end-stage heart disease
  • Provide CCU and telemetry coverage
  • Participate in the 1:5 call rotation
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary Cardiology team
  • Occasional bedside POCUS

Support Staff

  • Four attending physicians
  • Cardiology fellows
  • APPs
  • Multidisciplinary Cardiology team
  • Provider will not work independently

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation
  • Comfortable managing LVAD and heart transplant patients
  • Comfortable with high-acuity inpatient Cardiology

Credentialing

  • Full privileges available
  • Temporary privileges available
  • Emergency privileges available

Ideal Candidate

A Board Certified Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist experienced in managing LVAD, transplant, mechanical circulatory support, and end-stage heart failure patients. This opportunity is ideal for a physician comfortable with a high inpatient census and collaborative care alongside attending Cardiologists, fellows, and APPs.
