We are looking for a Desktop Support Field Technician to deliver hands-on and remote technical assistance for end users in Metro Detroit. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving day-to-day technology issues, supporting Microsoft-based environments, and providing dependable service across desktop and mobile platforms. The position focuses on maintaining productivity through timely troubleshooting, device setup, user support, and accurate ticket documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver in-person and remote support for end-user technology issues involving workstations, applications, and Microsoft 365 services.

• Maintain and troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices, along with core tools such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

• Administer user access by handling account setup, password assistance, and routine directory services tasks within Active Directory and Entra ID.

• Prepare, install, and support laptops, desktop systems, printers, and related accessories to ensure reliable daily operation.

• Assist with device provisioning, onboarding activities for new employees, and support efforts tied to Intune-managed equipment and hardware refresh cycles.

• Investigate and resolve connectivity problems affecting Wi-Fi access, network performance, and other local infrastructure issues.

• Record, track, and close support requests within the IT ticketing platform while keeping documentation clear and up to date.

• At least 5 years of experience in desktop support, field technical support, or help desk environments.

• Demonstrated background supporting Microsoft 365 applications and Windows-based systems in a business setting.

• Working knowledge of Active Directory or Entra ID, Intune, and foundational networking concepts.

• Strong diagnostic ability with a practical approach to resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

• Effective communication and customer support skills with the ability to assist users in a detail-oriented manner.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for onsite support needs within 100 miles.

• Exposure to healthcare technology environments is a plus.

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft credentials are preferred.
