Our 115,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.Position Overview The Maintenance Recycling Process Specialist II will primarily process recyclable materials through the BioSAFE or STI machine at 320 Holtzman Rd, along with driving a 26' straight truck to pick up full bins and deliver empty bins to 650 Forward Dr and 145 E. Badger Ln. The MRPS will assist Maintenance Technicians (MT) and Senior Maintenance Technicians (SMT) in general repairs and preventive maintenance of the BioSAFE machine. The MRPS will also be trained to provide support to help maintain building support systems (e.g., equipment including facility-related mechanical and electrical equipment located within office and laboratory locations).Essential Duties (Include but are not limited to the following):Communicate facility and safety-related issues from daily operations to the Facilities Management to coordinate with internal customers, property owners, and outside vendors.Assist the team in managing spare parts for equipment and supplies to minimize equipment downtime.Provide assistance in supporting the facility and utility systems, including, but not limited to, electrical distribution, plumbing, HVAC, and compressed air systems.Enter, prioritize, and complete work orders in a computer database system.Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) tasks with proper documentation and closure.Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections to assess the current operational condition, document findings, and take appropriate follow-up action following applicable procedures.React to loss of electrical power and other utility outages and assist in restoration efforts following weather-related events.Monitor and respond to equipment and facility system alarms with the ability to follow proper written procedures.Ensure material support for lab teams by delivering materials to internal cross-campus locations.Assist with the safe and timely transportation of materials, including, but not limited to, specimens and supplies, to appropriate locations.Transport packages in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as internal safety protocols and procedures.Operate forklift equipment to perform required duties to support lab operations and ensure consistent flow of material containers in and outbound.Load trucks by adequately placing and securing items. pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.Ability to use hand and power tools, climb ladders, and enter tight spaces requiring awkward postures.Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.Ability to use a telephone through a headset.Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials to not endanger oneself or others.Ability and means to travel between local Abbott Cancer Diagnostics locations.Ability to travel 75% of the working time away from the primary work location, including overnight/weekend travel.Ability to operate a gas or electric-powered fork truck, pallet jack, and floor cleaner.Ability to drive a 26' straight truck between local Abbott Cancer Diagnostics locations.Minimum Qualifications2+ years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties.Basic understanding of facility-related systems.Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Possession of or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 90 days of hire date and maintain it throughout employment in the position.1+ years of experience driving vehicles larger than 15ft.Possession of or ability to become certified to operate up to or including a 26-foot straight truck with air brakes within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment in the position.Possession of or ability to become Hazmat certified within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment in the position.Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol-related suspension, etc., in the last 36 months.No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Abbott Cancer Diagnostics to what Abbott Cancer Diagnostics deems unacceptable liability.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.Demonstrated ability to perform the position's Essential Duties with or without accommodation.Preferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree.Certification in Maintenance or Factory related areas.Experience working in a factory assembly line production, building maintenance, construction, or mechanical repair setting.1+ years of experience in a Distribution/Warehouse setting.Understanding of DOT & Hazmat regulations.Experience operating hand tools and small power tools.The base pay for this position is $17.00 – $34.00 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
