Sr. Vantage Developer

Overview

Our client is seeking an accomplished Developer to create innovative software supporting Army-focused mission activities. The position combines advanced front-end engineering with data science expertise to produce scalable applications that turn analytical insight into engaging, intuitive user experiences. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and help expand development capabilities with the customer. This is a fast-moving, adaptable environment suited to someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively, and continually deepen their technical skills.


Responsibilities

• Contribute to front-end engineering initiatives, with particular attention to analytics-based interfaces and data visualizations.

• Build, enhance, and sustain web-application front ends that expose predictive analytics and data-science findings.

• Produce well-designed, reusable, dependable code using HTML5, JavaScript, Python, and R.

• Implement UI/UX concepts as accessible web interfaces with React.js, including interactive visualization experiences.

• Convert sophisticated analytical outputs into straightforward, user-facing application experiences.

• Direct the incorporation of AI and machine-learning capabilities, recognizing high-value opportunities for emerging AI technology.

• Promote AI-centered engineering approaches and help the team deliver ML-enabled features and data-informed experiences.

• Serve as a technical resource to strengthen the team's front-end and data-science delivery capabilities.

• Facilitate architecture decisions and advise on technology selection, visualization approaches, and data-integration strategy.

• Find and develop opportunities to grow software-development work with Army stakeholders.

• Partner with data scientists, UX professionals, and engineers through Git-based collaboration, code review, and Agile delivery practices.

• Consult with Army leaders and representatives to understand software requirements, identify innovative data-driven and AI-enabled solutions, and build relationships that broaden development work.

• Work successfully both autonomously and as part of a team in strategic, consulting-oriented settings.

• Communicate clearly in writing and conversation, explaining technical ideas to nontechnical audiences and helping shape strategic choices.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

• At least 10 years of front-end development experience, including exposure to analytics and data-science workflows.

• Experience using the Palantir Foundry platform for application development and data integration.

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and visualization libraries such as D3.js, Plotly, Recharts, or comparable tools.

• Demonstrated experience building interactive, data-driven user interfaces with React.js.

• Python experience for data analysis and manipulation, including tools such as pandas or numpy.

• Familiarity with R and Shiny for statistical analysis and interactive applications is advantageous.

• Experience planning, analyzing, designing, building, testing, and maintaining applications for enterprise-scale systems.

• Knowledge of Git, Agile methods, CI/CD practices, and automated deployment processes.

• Demonstrated leadership, technical mentoring, or client-relationship experience.

• Active Secret clearance is required.


Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience adding AI/ML functions to web applications and identifying strategic applications for AI.

• Familiarity with AI APIs and frameworks, including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, or similar technologies.

• Experience with sophisticated visualization methods and dashboarding platforms.

• Understanding of machine-learning concepts and statistical analysis.

• Experience using Storybook to develop components, maintain documentation, or manage design systems.

• Hands-on experience deploying across multiple platforms and environments.

• Experience creating applications that work with classified data.

• Experience bringing machine-learning and analytical tools into production software.

• Knowledge of Army software-development practices and related technologies.

• Experience in strategic planning or consulting environments serving government or DoD customers.

• A demonstrated record of increasing technical scope or customer footprint in government environments.

• Three or more years of directly related experience.

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
