Respiratory Care Practitioner

Role Overview The Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner performs comprehensive respiratory therapy duties, collaborating with physicians and nurses to develop and implement patient care plans. They operate complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring devices, and conduct diagnostic procedures, ensuring high-quality respiratory care. The role requires independence in job performance, adherence to departmental policies, and may involve training students and new staff. The practitioner must demonstrate proficiency in ICU, emergency medicine, and birth center settings, with possible additional certifications. Qualifications & Skills Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent. Licenses including Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and AARC preceptor certification (within specified timeframes). Minimum of 3 years acute care Respiratory Therapist experience and 1 year in Birth Center/Labor & Delivery. Key Duties Perform respiratory assessments and procedures. Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment. Collaborate in patient care planning. Assist physicians with respiratory therapies and training.
