What We Need
Symbotic is seeking a technically strong Maintenance TSU/Engineer to support the launch and ongoing operation of its highly automated robotic warehouse system in Mexico. This role serves as a key technical point of contact for site teams, customer partners, and Symbotic support functions, with responsibility for monitoring system health, troubleshooting automation issues, supporting uptime, escalating production-impacting concerns, and translating system performance into clear operational insights. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with automated material-handling systems, robotics, controls, PLCs, industrial networks, and electro-mechanical troubleshooting, along with the ability to communicate effectively.
What You’ll Do
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automated systems, including robotic vehicles, vertical lifts, automated adapters, conveyors, sensors, controls, warehouse execution systems, dashboards, alerts, HMI screens, queue logic, routing paths, and real-time performance data.
Diagnose complex electro-mechanical, controls, software, network, PLC, servo drive, VFD, sensors, industrial Ethernet, robotics platform, and power transfer system issues that may impact uptime, throughput, reliability, or customer operations.
Clearly communicate technical issues, business impact, estimated recovery timing, recommended corrective actions, system insights, performance trends, reliability risks, and improvement opportunities to site leadership, customer operations, Maintenance, Engineering, SRTE, and support teams.
Conduct or support root-cause analysis for recurring faults, system interruptions, and production-impacting events; document findings, escalation notes, troubleshooting records, SOP updates, and shift/system health reports to help drive corrective actions.
Partner closely with customer operations leaders and Symbotic teams to resolve daily operational and automation challenges.
Provide system training and technical guidance to site team members on automation behavior, troubleshooting steps, system functionality, and safe work practices.
Support launch, commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization, and continuous improvement activities for the operation.
Backfill or support key operational or technical activities as needed to maintain site coverage and continuity.
Follow all safety protocols and site requirements, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, work-at-height procedures, customer-specific safety expectations, and other assigned duties as required by leadership.
Fluent in English; required based on site and business needs.
What You’ll Need
TSU / bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Robotics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent technical experience will be considered.
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting automated, robotic, electro-mechanical, manufacturing, logistics, fulfillment, automotive, aerospace, or other advanced industrial systems preferred.
Experience in high-volume automated operations, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, or industrial automation environments strongly preferred.
Hands-on technical knowledge of PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms, with the ability to support controls-level troubleshooting and issue escalation.
Strong working knowledge of robotics platforms ABB preferred, automated material-handling systems, conveyors, sensors, servo drives, VFDs, HMIs, large industrial Ethernet networks, and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to work with technical software tools and operating environments such as SQL, Linux, Python, dashboards, system monitoring tools, diagnostic applications, or warehouse execution systems.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, system alarms, diagnostic screens, and equipment documentation to support root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure, prioritize production-impacting issues, and manage shifting operational needs.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Bilingual Spanish and English skills required; business English fluency preferred for communication with U.S.-based teams and technical support groups.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, reliability, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a technical operations environment.
Ability and desire to learn new technologies, support team members, and help build technical capability in a developing Mexico operation.
Our Environment
Up to 10% of travel may be required; travel during onboarding/training will be up to 60%. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
US VISA is a plus.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
Site-based position
Ability to climb stairs and work in heights.
The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms
The employee frequently needs to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches. This includes tasks that require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout and fall protection safety protocols.
You will need to climb steep stairs to access the structure and may be required to regularly walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation setup.
You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

Symbotic está buscando un(a) TSU/Ingeniero(a) de Mantenimiento con una sólida formación técnica para apoyar el arranque y la operación continua de su sistema altamente automatizado de almacenes robóticos en México.
Esta posición será un punto clave de contacto técnico entre los equipos del sitio, los clientes y las áreas de soporte de Symbotic. Será responsable de monitorear la salud del sistema, diagnosticar y resolver problemas de automatización, contribuir a maximizar la disponibilidad del sistema (uptime), escalar incidentes que afecten la producción y convertir el desempeño del sistema en información clara y útil para la operación.
El candidato ideal cuenta con experiencia práctica en sistemas automatizados de manejo de materiales, robótica, sistemas de control, PLC, redes industriales y diagnóstico electromecánico, además de excelentes habilidades de comunicación.
Lo que harás
Monitorear, diagnosticar y optimizar sistemas automatizados, incluyendo vehículos robóticos, elevadores verticales, adaptadores automáticos, transportadores (conveyors), sensores, sistemas de control, Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), tableros de monitoreo (dashboards), alertas, interfaces hombre-máquina (HMI), lógica de colas, rutas de transporte y datos de desempeño en tiempo real.
Diagnosticar problemas complejos relacionados con sistemas electromecánicos, controles, software, redes, PLC, servodrives, variadores de frecuencia (VFD), sensores, Ethernet Industrial, plataformas robóticas y sistemas de transferencia de energía que puedan afectar la disponibilidad, productividad, confiabilidad u operación del cliente.
Comunicar de manera clara los problemas técnicos, su impacto en el negocio, el tiempo estimado de recuperación, las acciones correctivas recomendadas, el comportamiento del sistema, las tendencias de desempeño, los riesgos de confiabilidad y las oportunidades de mejora a los líderes del sitio, operaciones del cliente, equipos de Mantenimiento, Ingeniería, SRTE y grupos de soporte.
Realizar o apoyar análisis de causa raíz (Root Cause Analysis) para fallas recurrentes, interrupciones del sistema e incidentes que afecten la producción. Documentar hallazgos, notas de escalación, registros de diagnóstico, actualizaciones de procedimientos operativos estándar (SOP) y reportes de turno o de salud del sistema para impulsar acciones correctivas.
Colaborar estrechamente con los líderes de operaciones del cliente y los equipos de Symbotic para resolver los desafíos diarios relacionados con la operación y la automatización.
Capacitar y brindar orientación técnica al personal del sitio sobre el funcionamiento de la automatización, procedimientos de diagnóstico, funcionalidad del sistema y prácticas seguras de trabajo.
Apoyar las actividades de arranque (Launch), comisionamiento (Commissioning), incremento gradual de producción (Ramp-up), estabilización y mejora continua de la operación.
Cubrir o apoyar actividades operativas o técnicas clave cuando sea necesario para garantizar la continuidad de la operación.
Cumplir con todos los protocolos de seguridad y los requisitos del sitio, incluyendo procedimientos de bloqueo y etiquetado (Lockout/Tagout - LOTO), protección contra caídas, uso de equipo de protección personal (EPP), trabajo en alturas, requisitos específicos del cliente y cualquier otra actividad asignada por la dirección.
Dominio del idioma inglés, requerido de acuerdo con las necesidades del sitio y del negocio.
Lo que necesitarás
TSU o Licenciatura en Ingeniería Electrónica, Eléctrica, Mecatrónica, Automatización, Robótica, Ingeniería de Software, Ciencias Computacionales, Ingeniería Industrial o una disciplina técnica relacionada. Se considerará experiencia técnica equivalente.
Mínimo 3 años de experiencia brindando soporte a sistemas automatizados, robóticos, electromecánicos, manufactura, logística, centros de distribución (fulfillment), industria automotriz, aeroespacial u otros sistemas industriales avanzados.
Experiencia en operaciones automatizadas de alto volumen, centros de distribución, plantas de manufactura o entornos de automatización industrial.
Conocimientos prácticos en PLC, preferentemente Allen-Bradley, Siemens o plataformas similares, con capacidad para realizar diagnóstico de sistemas de control y escalar problemas técnicos.
Sólidos conocimientos en plataformas robóticas (preferentemente ABB), sistemas automatizados de manejo de materiales, transportadores, sensores, servodrives, variadores de frecuencia (VFD), interfaces HMI, redes Ethernet industriales y diagnóstico electromecánico.
Capacidad para trabajar con herramientas y entornos de software técnico como SQL, Linux, Python, dashboards, herramientas de monitoreo, aplicaciones de diagnóstico o Warehouse Execution Systems (WES).
Capacidad para interpretar diagramas eléctricos, planos mecánicos, diagramas de cableado, alarmas del sistema, pantallas de diagnóstico y documentación técnica para realizar análisis de causa raíz e implementar acciones correctivas.
Sólidas habilidades analíticas y de resolución de problemas, con capacidad para diagnosticar fallas bajo presión, priorizar incidentes que afecten la producción y adaptarse a las necesidades cambiantes de la operación.
Excelentes habilidades de comunicación para explicar conceptos técnicos de forma clara tanto a personal técnico como no técnico.
Dominio del español e inglés; se requiere un nivel de inglés de negocios para la comunicación con equipos de soporte y grupos técnicos ubicados en Estados Unidos.

Nuestro entorno de trabajo
Disponibilidad para viajar hasta un 10 % del tiempo. Durante el proceso de incorporación y capacitación, la disponibilidad para viajar podrá ser de hasta un 60 %.

El colaborador deberá contar con una tarjeta de crédito personal para cubrir gastos de viaje, los cuales serán reembolsados de forma quincenal.
Posición 100 % presencial.
Capacidad para subir escaleras y trabajar en alturas.
Se requiere caminar con frecuencia y utilizar constantemente las manos y los brazos durante la jornada laboral.
El puesto requiere trabajar regularmente en alturas de hasta 13.7 metros (45 pies) y en espacios confinados de aproximadamente 61 cm (24 pulgadas) de ancho. Las actividades pueden incluir permanecer de pie, subir escaleras, mantener el equilibrio, agacharse, arrodillarse, ponerse en cuclillas o gatear.
Capacidad para levantar y/o mover regularmente cargas de hasta 23 kg (50 lb).
Cumplir estrictamente con todos los requisitos y protocolos de seguridad, incluyendo procedimientos de Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) y protección contra caídas.
Será necesario subir escaleras pronunciadas para acceder a la estructura de automatización y desplazarse regularmente dentro de ella.
El trabajo se realiza frecuentemente cerca de barandales y plataformas ubicadas a gran altura.
El puesto está sujeto a condiciones ambientales interiores, protegido de la intemperie, aunque con posibles variaciones de temperatura. Se requiere capacidad para trabajar en temperaturas que oscilan entre 0 °C y 40.5 °C (32 °F a 105 °F)
