THE OPPORTUNITY

ChaudhryLaw PLLC is seeking a Paralegal.

We’re looking for a highly motivated self-starter to provide direct support to our firm’s lawyers (including two Associates, Counsel, and Founding Partner). This opportunity will enable the paralegal to work with some of the country’s top trial lawyers and participate in high-profile litigation. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide direct support to our firm’s lawyers to ensure quality control and consistency across all deliverables, in the following functions: 

Case Management:

• Collaborate with lawyers to manage and organize litigation cases from inception to conclusion.

• Maintain and update case files, including pleadings, discovery documents, correspondence, expert reports, and exhibits.

• Prepare and manage case timelines, calendars, and deadlines to ensure compliance.

• Coordinate with external parties, such as clients, witnesses, experts, vendors and opposing counsel, as necessary.

Document Management :

• Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and affidavits.

• Bluebook and cite check briefs and prepare tables of content and authorities.

• Assist with the preparation and filing of state and federal court documents, ensuring adherence to court rules and e-filing procedures.

• Organize and maintain electronic document databases, ensuring confidentiality and easy retrieval of documents.

Discovery and Investigation :

• Assist in the preparation and response to discovery requests, including document productions and interrogatories.

• Coordinate and manage document review processes, often involving large volumes of data.

• Draft memos, correspondence, and other research documents (from charts to research findings). 

• Utilize automated eDiscovery review systems including Relativity, CaseMap/TimeMap, and West Case Notebook.

Legal Research and Analysis :

• Conduct legal research using various online and offline resources (including Westlaw, LexisNexis, and PACER) to gather relevant information.

Trial Support :

• Assist lawyers in preparing for and attendance at trials, hearings, and depositions.

• Organize and prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and other trial-related materials.

• Provide on-site support during trials, including managing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and assisting with courtroom technology.

Time Recording :

• Enter time spent on tasks on a daily basis into the firm's practice management software system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements: 

· Bachelor’s degree required, competitive university preferred

· Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved school preferred

· 1–3 years of professional paralegal experience required; litigation experience strongly preferred

This role requires exceptional judgment, meticulous attention to detail, project management experience, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with attorneys, paralegals, clients, experts, vendors, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in a fast-paced environment. 

The ideal candidate has impeccable organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This person must be able to recognize problems or issues that are new or without clear precedent, evaluate options using a systematic multi-step approach, and present a solution. This person has extensive experience supporting litigation in federal and state courts, completing complex projects and tasks without error. This person listens effectively, clarifies information as needed, and communicates in a timely and clear manner regarding issues and project status to the project team and stakeholders. Excellent work ethic is essential to success.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Available to work in the office 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. No remote work is available for this position. Our firm prioritizes excellence and collaboration.

• Available to work beyond regular hours when necessary.

• Available to travel as required, on short notice, to various courthouses or other locations in support of the firm’s clients.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

ChaudhryLaw PLLC offers competitive salaries commensurate with employees’ experience and skills. The salary range for this position is $64,000 - $80,000. The employment status is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime.

BONUS

This role may also be eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus, the amount of which, if any, will be determined by the firm in its sole discretion based on individual and the firm’s performance.
