Adjunct Instructor, CDL ProgramThe Adjunct Instructor, CDL Program position is part-time, non-benefited position responsible for program instruction, student support, safety, equipment inspection, and supporting the overall program operations. Under the general direction of the Outreach and Workforce Development CDL Program Manager, the Instructor performs duties related to delivering the LCCC Non-Credit instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their potential.This position uses the standard curriculum and approved methodology to ensure student progress in both written coursework and practical driving skills, while providing relearning opportunities through approved strategies as needed. This position requires a strong background and understanding of the curriculum as well as superior training skills. Also, calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work closely and without conflict with both internal and external customers.Compensation: $33.39/hr. Position is open until filled. Starting Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process.Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA'sEssential Functions: This position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned.Ensure student understanding of content by preparing and delivering clear objectives and instructional activities that facilitate active learning.Demonstrate safe vehicle operation by applying proper driving techniques, conducting thorough pre-trip inspections, and adhering to safety protocols in various driving conditions.Maintain vehicles in safe operating condition by performing routine inspections, identifying potential mechanical issues, and ensuring timely maintenance in accordance with safety regulations.Complete maintenance repair forms to CDL Program ManagerEnsure the program consistently operates in compliance with school policies and procedures, OSHA, FERPA, FMCSA, state law, and applicable rules by implementing and monitoring practices that adhere to these standards and ensuring all records are accurately prepared and updated.Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs. All employees of the College are expected to perform other tasks as assigned by their respective supervisor/manager regardless of job title or routine job duties.Education and Experience RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Highschool diploma, GED, or equivalentThree years of Class A CDL experience and eligibility for coverage by the College's insurance policy.Current US DOT Medical CertificateRegistered in the FMCSA Clearinghouse system and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.Motor Vehicle Record reflecting "Licensed" Commercial Status.Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Business, Management, Transportation Logistics, or a closely related fieldLicense and ability to operation a manual 10 or 13 speed transmissionTwo years of instructional experience in a CDL training program or equivalentPossession of, or willingness to obtain, endorsements for Hazardous Materials, Doubles/Triples, and TankerStrong computer skillsExperience in both local, and over-the-road drivingNotesIf you are selected for the position, your appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
