Job Title: Data Labeling Specialist Job Description

The Data Labeling Specialist supports advanced AI and robotics initiatives by accurately annotating images and video streams generated by humanoid robots. This role focuses on consistent, high-quality data labeling, careful handling of edge cases, and continuous improvement of annotation workflows within a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

• Use proprietary annotation tools to label objects, poses, and interactions in images and video streams generated by humanoid robots.
• Apply clear, consistent logic when annotating a wide range of visual scenarios to ensure high-quality training data for machine learning models.
• Identify, document, and flag ambiguous or edge-case scenarios for review by the machine learning team.
• Maintain high throughput while preserving accuracy and consistency across large batches of annotations.
• Perform careful data entry and data management to ensure labeled datasets remain organized, traceable, and usable for downstream analysis.
• Support quality assurance processes by reviewing labeled data, correcting errors, and helping to enforce annotation standards.
• Contribute feedback on workflow improvements, annotation guidelines, and tool enhancements to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with a goal-driven engineering team to align labeling practices with evolving project requirements.
• Stay focused and on task during repetitive labeling work, minimizing distractions to meet productivity and quality targets.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply consistent logic across diverse visual scenarios.
• Comfort using computer-based tools and the ability to quickly learn new software and proprietary annotation platforms.
• Proficiency with general computer skills and data entry in a production or lab environment.
• Experience or familiarity with data labeling, data collection, and data management practices.
• Basic data analysis capabilities to understand and interpret labeling requirements and guidelines.
• Quality assurance mindset with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a patient, quality-focused approach.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting edge cases and collaborating with the machine learning and engineering teams.
• Reliable, self-motivated work style with a collaborative spirit in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English.

• Experience working in a production, lab, or similar operational environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for basic documentation and reporting.
• Comfort performing repetitive tasks while maintaining concentration and accuracy over extended periods.
• Interest in AI, robotics, or machine learning projects and their data requirements.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback on tools, processes, and workflows to support continuous improvement.

This role operates in a production and lab room environment alongside a goal-driven team of engineers working on advanced AI and robotics systems. The work involves repetitive labeling tasks that require sustained focus and discipline, even when the tasks become monotonous. Team members are expected to remain on task, minimize distractions, and consistently meet productivity and quality expectations. The position follows structured shifts, including a day shift from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and a swing shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., supporting a stable and predictable schedule in a collaborative, technology-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
