Manager, Revenue Accounting
WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. The Finance team at WHOOP is building a world-class accounting organization to support the company's rapid growth and long-term strategic ambitions.
We are seeking a Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our accounting team and serve as a key operator within the revenue function. This role will own the end-to-end revenue close for WHOOP's subscription, device, and services model, while bringing an analytics-forward lens to how revenue data is sourced, validated, and explained.
Responsibilities include owning the monthly and quarterly revenue close, operationalizing ASC 606 conclusions into repeatable close procedures, building and maintaining revenue and contract cost analytics, partnering with Data Analytics and Engineering teams to monitor data integrity controls, establishing monitoring for revenue risk indicators, partnering with Technical Accounting on the assessment of new contracts, supporting quarterly reviews and annual audits, driving process improvement and automation within the revenue function, and contributing to public company readiness.
Qualifications include 5+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, a strong foundation in public accounting, deep expertise in ASC 606, working knowledge of ASC 340-40 contract cost capitalization and amortization, experience supporting monthly revenue close, deferred revenue rollforwards, and cutoff testing, experience supporting IPO readiness, SEC reporting, or public company revenue processes, experience with ERP systems and subscription billing platforms, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, experience implementing AI-driven solutions or process automation, and strong alignment with WHOOP's mission and brand.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
