Pizza Maker / Shift Supervisor
Salary: $20 - $25 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Pizza Maker / Shift Supervisor to join our team in New City, NY. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong pizza-making skills, a passion for quality food, and the ability to lead a team during busy service periods. The successful candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure consistent product quality, and help maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Stretch dough by hand, prepare toppings, and manage oven operations.
- Supervise kitchen staff during assigned shifts and provide direction as needed.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency on every order.
- Monitor food preparation, portion control, and inventory levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and prep areas.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Assist with scheduling, training, and onboarding of new team members.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
- Help control food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper product handling.
- Support front-of-house operations when necessary to ensure excellent guest service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of pizza-making experience required.
- Previous supervisory, shift lead, or kitchen leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dough preparation, stretching, topping, and oven management.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
