Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency DepartmentVista Medical Center East & Lindenhurst Free-Standing Emergency CenterLocation: Waukegan & Lindenhurst, IllinoisEmployment Type: Temporary - 13 weeks (36 hours per week)Shift: Various Shifts Available (Days, Nights, Weekends)Pay: Days - $70/hr, Nights - $75/hrMake an Immediate Impact in Emergency CareVista Medical Center is seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses seeking flexible scheduling, supplemental income, or short-term assignments in a dynamic healthcare environment.As a Temporary Emergency Department RN, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members in a fast-paced emergency setting.What You'll DoAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for emergency department patients.Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and identify patient care needs.Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.Provide emergency interventions and support during critical situations.Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate care and discharge planning.Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record.Adhere to infection prevention standards, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements.Promote exceptional patient experiences through professional communication and service excellence.What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN).Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple patients effectively.Preferred Qualifications2+ years Previous Emergency Department experience preferred.Experience working in fast-paced acute care environments.Familiarity with emergency triage, trauma, and critical care practices.Required/Obtained Within Designated TimeframesACLS within 90 daysPALS within 90 daysNIHSS within 90 daysCPI Training within 90 daysFEMA 100 & 200 Certifications within 3 monthsECRN License within 1 yearTNCC within 1 year (unless currently certified)Why Join Vista?Flexible temporary assignments.Opportunity to work in both hospital-based and free-standing emergency settings.Collaborative and supportive clinical team environment.Exposure to a diverse patient population across all age groups.Meaningful work delivering care when patients need it most.Physical RequirementsThis role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and continuous movement throughout the shift.
