Customer Service Representative

Job Summary The Customer Service Representative is responsible for creating a positive customer experience by providing timely communication based on customer needs. The position involves accurate and prompt processing of customer orders and full order life cycle management, including order processing, management, changes, cross‑collaboration for fulfillment, and leading all order‑related communication to the customer. Responsibilities Place orders efficiently and accurately using phone, email, or EDI. Confirm orders and communicate changes to customers in a timely manner. Verify shipping, billing, pricing, and purchase order information. Enter special instructions, customer requests, and notes related to orders. Update customer files with quoted pricing, new items, address changes, and delivery instructions. Communicate and provide support to sales staff while in the field. Regularly communicate with internal and external customers on various issues. Audit customer purchase orders for pricing, quantity, terms of sale, ETA, carrier, and special shipping instructions. Document and resolve customer complaints. Process product returns in a timely manner according to established procedures. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory expectations. Required Education and Experience 2+ years of experience in Customer Service, Customer Success, or a similar discipline; or5+ years of relevant professional experience. Experience in chemical distribution or manufacturing is a plus. CRM experience required, preferably Salesforce. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and team collaboration tools. Skills Strong problem‑solving, independent work, and decision‑making skills. Excellent interpersonal, listening, and speaking abilities. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, ambiguous, deadline‑driven environment. High organization and prioritization skills. Effective communication in verbal and written correspondence. Attention to detail and follow‑up skills. Adaptability to change and ability to train team members.
