Senior Accounting Specialist

We are seeking experienced, detail‑driven professional to oversee complex accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial records to join our team as the Senior Accounting Specialist .

This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of wire transfers operations and acting as a vital link between Accounting Operations, Financial Services (Finance), Internal Audit, and external financial partners, helping to maintain strong internal controls while supporting critical financial decisions that contribute to the organization's success.

Key Job Functions:

• Oversees incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, timely release and resolution of discrepancies
• Processes monthly ACH functions including tax withholding entries, death notifications, reclamation notices and resolution of unauthorized ACH transactions while coordinating with internal departments to ensure proper ACH coding, documentation, and timely resolution of payment disputes
• Balances the Federal Reserve General Ledger (GL) daily and support daily payment settlement activities

• Processes Lexis Nexis and Asset Verification items

Required Skills and Experience:

• Three to five years of progressive accounting experience, including direct exposure to credit union operations, financial services or treasury.
• A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors. Experience as a substitution for a degree may be considered.
• A professional certification in Risk Management or Compliance is preferred.
• Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs., as needed, and requires extended periods of sitting and/or standing and to be able to use PC, copier, scanner, fax, etc.
