About the Role

Are you a hands-on Mold Maker who enjoys working with precision equipment, solving problems, and building high-quality tools? PTI Tech is looking for a skilled Mold Maker to join our team in Clifton, NJ.

In this role, you'll help build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plastic injection molds and precision components. You'll work with CNC and manual machining equipment, use Mastercam programming software, and ensure finished parts meet exact specifications.

What You'll Do

• Program machining operations using Mastercam software.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines, surface grinders, and EDM equipment.
• Build, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plastic injection molds.
• Manufacture precision mold components to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models.
• Use measuring and inspection equipment to verify that parts meet specifications.
• Identify problems, determine the best solutions, and make necessary adjustments.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain high standards for quality and accuracy.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production and project goals.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, or repairing plastic injection molds.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Familiarity with Mastercam programming.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and 3D models.
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection methods.
• Basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A dependable team player who takes pride in producing quality work.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a manufacturing and tool room environment.
• Regular use of machining equipment and tools is required.
• Occasional exposure to moving machinery, fumes or airborne particles, and electrical hazards.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• The role may require standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling, and using hands to handle tools and equipment.
