Music Teacher

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Valid California teaching credential (multiple subject or single subject with appropriate authorization); candidates in the process of credential completion may be considered. Ability to teach students in grades 6–8. Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes Strong background in music performance and/or composition, including contemporary music styles. Experience teaching beginning and advanced music students, including ensemble-based instruction. Knowledge of music theory, notation, rhythm, music history, and culturally responsive music education. Experience with songwriting, modern band instruction, and basic recording or music technology. Comfort integrating project-based learning and collaborative instructional strategies. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a start-up charter school environment.
