Field Service Engineer IVThe Field Service Engineer IV is a customer-facing role responsible for supporting the ZincFive Battery Cabinet systems and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) product lines, by providing superior customer service, fast response times and effective solutions to product issues. The Field Service Engineer IV must be well-versed and competent in battery system product start-up and conditioning, product installation, debug, troubleshooting and testing. The role may be worked remotely from home or onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon and reports to the Director of Global Service Operations.Job Duties:Perform Battery Cabinet (BC) installation, start-up and conditioning, commissioning, debug and testing, as required at client locationsTroubleshoot and failure analyze product issues via email, phone, or travel to customer sitesWork with Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Production to promptly and efficiently resolve product issues and satisfy customer expectations and requirementsGenerate, track, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the departmentTechnical documentation of necessary processes and proceduresProvide exceptional technical service and support to internal and external customers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfactionConduct training and refreshers on Battery Cabinet (BC) Systems to Service and Support personnel, customers, and 3rd party service providersTravel as needed (up to 75%) within in the U.S. and internationallyJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, electro-chemistry, or equivalent experience in related fieldMinimum of 3 years' experience with Battery/Battery Management System and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) in the Data Center MarketMinimum of 3 years' experience working with and around high voltage equipment in indoor/outdoor industrial environmentsSoftware/Firmware testing/programming experienceDeep knowledge of electrical/electronic schematics and understanding mechanical designsExperience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, AC/DC power analyzers, digital multimeters, electrical/electronic loadsAbility and experience providing customer-facing support while remaining professional and calm in high stress situationsExperience traveling and managing travel expenses and scheduleExperience training technicians, external customers, and 3rd party service providersExperience with Data Center network and communication systemsDemonstrate teamwork, dependability, high integrity, and a solid work ethicAbility to learn and adapt quicklyAbility to work independently with minimal supervision onsite and in the fieldExcellent computer skills including MS Office Suite, Visio, SAP, or other ERP programsPreferred Experience/Skills:Work from home in the Mid-Atlantic regionExperience working with and understanding various battery chemistriesKey Competencies:Attention to detailCommunication skills - verbal and writtenCustomer service orientedTeamworkPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Work involves frequent bending, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting to 35 pounds over extended periods of timeRequires close visual acuity and the ability to distinguish color and the ability to hearOutdoor harsh climate, lab, highly secured data centers, office, and manufacturing environmentsTravel domestically and internationally by air, auto, bus, or trainAbility to wear required PPE on the face and bodySalary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.In addition, the successful candidate for this position will become eligible for a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid sick time, paid time off for vacation, paid holidays, paid community service days, professional/personal learning program, and applicable state/federal paid family leave.ZincFive is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
