Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required within the last 12 months.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - UCSF.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA catheters is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 2.5 years ICU experience preferred. Variety in critical care experience preferred: med/surg, cardiac, and neuro. Recent Float Pool, PACU, or Emergency Room experience preferred, not required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: If CA state licensure is 3 months or less from expiration, proof that the renewal process has been initiated is required to apply.

Special Requests: An interview may not be given prior to an offer being made. Submit all RTO at time of offer. RTO sent after contract is signed will not be considered. RTO time must be added back to the end of the contract. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts. Day shift 7:00-19:30; night shift 19:00-7:30. One 4-week schedule cycle will be either day or night shift, but may switch to the opposite shift in another schedule cycle depending on need. Schedule is based on operational need.

Floating Requirements: Float pool position, not unit based. Must float to other UCSF facilities and departments, including all TCUs and ICUs, ED, and PACU. Can be assigned to UCSF sites including Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion. May float to Acute Care/Tele/TCU units with up to 3:1 assignments. May be assigned to the ED for boarded patients or to PACU for boarded patients or assist with tasks.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
