We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and client-focused attorney to join our Chicago office. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career attorney who wants real courtroom experience, substantial client contact, and the chance to build expertise in a meaningful and high-demand area of law.

As an Associate Attorney at The Semrad Law Firm, you will work directly with clients who are often facing one of the most difficult financial moments of their lives. You will help them understand their options, guide them through the bankruptcy process, and advocate for them in court.

Prior bankruptcy experience is not required. We provide structured training, mentorship, and ongoing support from experienced attorneys. What matters most is judgment, work ethic, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help people.

• Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases
• Meet with clients to evaluate financial circumstances and advise on legal options
• Review, draft, and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related pleadings
• Attend court hearings, including 341 meetings, confirmation hearings, motions, and other bankruptcy matters
• Develop expertise in consumer bankruptcy law, court procedures, and client advocacy

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional judgment, emotional intelligence, and maturity
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and improve quickly
• Commitment to client service and helping people through challenging circumstances
• Interest in developing courtroom confidence and long-term litigation skills

• Starting salary of $75,000+
• Performance bonus opportunity of approximately 15%–20% of base salary
