Staff Accountant

An established REIT is seeking a Staff Accountant with at least one(1) year of experience in investment accounting. This role will support the reporting and operational activities for investments, including accounts payable (AP), bank reconciliations, journal entries, and more. Responsibilities Responsible for the bi-monthly AP process, including invoice approval and coding approving based upon the contract, job, guidelines, etc. Ensure all costs are within approved budgets and commitments. Prepare payment package for internal review and obtain approvals. Communicate with vendors regarding timing of billing and payment procedures. Assist with maintaining the books and records of asset and debt investments. Prepare bank reconciliations, journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, interest invoices, and CAM reconciliations (if applicable). Assist with preparation of lender reporting and cash management operations, including preparing wire transfers with support and obtaining approvals. Prepare and organize tax compliance documentation (i.e. year-end 1099s). Support year-end external audit process by providing accounting and legal records, check registers and other support. Review construction draws/payment requests for authorizations and documentation. Responsible for monthly and as needed bill preparation and distribution. Responsible for broker invoice routing, including following up on payment as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience required, including 2+ years of experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations and journal entries, and 1+ year of experience in real estate or investment accounting 1+ year of experience in cash management or cost accounting highly preferred Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required #J-18808-Ljbffr
