Job Description

Contractors in the Skillit network are actively hiring skilled professionals for drywall worker jobs in New Orleans across commercial and industrial construction projects. These drywall worker trade jobs in New Orleans require precision, attention to detail, and the ability to complete installations efficiently while maintaining high-quality finishing standards.

Key Responsibilities – Drywall Professionals

Hang, measure, cut, and install drywall panels accurately

Tape, mud, sand, and finish seams to achieve smooth surfaces
Patch and repair existing drywall with seamless blending
Interpret blueprints and layout drawings before installation
Move materials safely and keep workspaces organized
Coordinate with framing crews and other trades on-site
Calculate material quantities when required
Maintain compliance with safety standards and site regulations

Key Responsibilities – Tile Setters

Measure and mark installation areas precisely

Cut and shape tile materials using appropriate tools
Install tiles evenly following layout plans and drawings
Apply adhesives or thin-set correctly for secure bonding
Prepare surfaces before installation and clean finished areas
Ensure alignment, spacing, and finishing meet quality standards

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in drywall installation and finishing

Background in construction trade environments
Ability to read and understand blueprints and safety documentation
Proficiency with manual and powered construction tools
Capability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions
Experience handling tile materials such as porcelain and glass
Strong focus on craftsmanship and detail
