Dental assistant

Our office is a family owned private dental practice run by father and son. We pride ourselves with treating patients ethically and with the utmost respect. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our patient oriented dental practice. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment in compliance with infection control standards. Cross training with front desk duties prefered or can be provided.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up calls for patient visits.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Utilize dental terminology effectively when communicating with patients and team members.
Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.
Familiarize yourself with electronic health record systems such as Dentrix for efficient documentation.
Qualifications
Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices, dental terminology, and infection control procedures is essential.
Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance is required.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Certification in dental assisting or completion of an accredited dental assistant program is a plus.

Shift & Schedule

- Work Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 7 AM - 4 PM; Wednesday: Closed; Friday: 7 AM - 1 PM.
- Breaks: 30-minute meal break (not counted as work hours).
- Weekend Work: No weekend shifts required.
- Holiday Shifts: No holiday shifts
