Oncology/Surgical ICU Registered Nurse

Role Overview This position involves providing direct patient care in a specialized ICU setting, focusing on critically ill oncology, bone marrow transplant, and surgical patients. The nurse will perform assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include educating patients and families, promoting safety and regulatory compliance, and participating in professional development activities. Key Responsibilities Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations. Develop, document, and communicate comprehensive care plans aligned with standards of nursing practice. Participate in safety initiatives, quality improvement, and ongoing education, including certifications like CCRN, OCN, and BMTNC. Support patient and family education on illness management and post-discharge care. Qualifications & Skills Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred. Current RN license required. Experience in ICU, oncology, or surgical settings is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a high-acuity environment.
