WORKING LOCATION: Theodore, Alabama FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time SCHEDULE: Mon -Thurs - 9 hours/Friday - 4 hours (in-office) FLSA STATUS: Salary - Exempt POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for providing coordination in all health and safety measures in a field position supporting engineering, construction, regulatory, drilling, and production teams. Primary Responsibilities Serve as member of the local leadership team and as a local point of contact in the area of Health & Safety. Facilitate the plant daily safety meetings and document each discussion in the daily safety meeting minutes. Conduct plant safety orientations Frequently review plant and offshore facilities safety-related paperwork (JSEAs, LOTO, work permits, etc.) and verify paperwork correctness in the field, and document these reviews. Keep all personnel updated about new internal and external safety standards and procedures, including highlighting changes made. Assist in review and preparation of new and existing safety procedures. Conduct investigations of incidents, including accidents, injuries, spills and near misses, determine root causes of each and prepare associated reports to include corrective action to mitigate future incidents. Be visible and available to provide HSE support to operations and promote HSE expectations and provide HSE input to operations management. Identify and mitigate workplace exposures, work hazards and coach and mentor field personnel. Lead pipeline safety audits and compliance. Participate in HAZOP activities. Be the focal point for SDS management and HAZCOM. Maintain emergency plans, including hurricane response plan. Encourage employees to report unsafe working conditions and seek suggestions from employees for improvement of workplace conditions. Support and assist in the company’s drug and alcohol programs. Serve as the HSE facilitator for all OTF and platform personnel and ensure that everyone completes their required training. Visit offshore platforms for inspections, etc. Manage waste storage and shipment. Work with environmental technicians to conduct environmental monitoring. Participate in incident investigations (internal as well as for BSEE). Properly maintain safety equipment and ensure employees are properly trained to use it. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a safety related field or similar preferred 3+ years of offshore oil and gas industry experience preferred and familiarity with OSHA/PSC/AOGB/EPA/ADEM/MMA compliance. Self-motivated with ability to work independently. Good organizational skills are a must along with the ability to multi-task. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficiency in software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Acrobat and other related software required. Very proficient in Excel with database experience preferred. Physical Requirements Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
