Location: Fort Lee, New Jersey (100% On-site) Work Mode: Full-time, office-based (Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available) The Role As a Mobile Team Lead, you will lead a team of mobile engineers and play a key role in shaping and delivering our Flutter-based applications. You will be responsible for guiding architectural decisions, ensuring code quality, and driving best practices while remaining hands‑on with Flutter development. This role blends technical leadership and people mentorship, giving you the opportunity to own core mobile experiences, improve performance and reliability, and help scale products used by thousands of users. What You’ll Do Lead and mentor a team of mobile engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and support for their growth and performance. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high‑quality mobile applications using Flutter and Dart. Collaborate with product, design, backend, and R&D teams to define requirements, scope work, and deliver features on time. Ensure clean, testable, and high‑performance code following best practices, including SOLID principles and modern architectural patterns. Integrate and work with REST APIs, WebSockets, and other backend services to deliver robust app functionality. Participate in and lead architectural discussions, technical design reviews, and planning sessions. Help define and improve mobile development standards, patterns, and documentation within the team. Support CI/CD practices for mobile, including build pipelines, testing automation, and release processes. Troubleshoot production issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvements in app stability and user experience. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development (Android and/or iOS). 2+ years of hands‑on experience building Flutter applications, including at least one published or production app. Strong knowledge of Dart, object‑oriented programming, and SOLID principles. Experience integrating and working with REST APIs, sockets/WebSockets, and standard mobile best practices. Solid understanding of mobile app architectures (e.g., BLoC, Provider, MVVM, or similar patterns). Proficiency in Git and collaborative development workflows. Demonstrated experience mentoring other developers, acting as a tech lead, or guiding juniors/mids on projects. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and focus on performance and user experience. Based in or able to commute daily to Fort Lee, NJ. Nice to Have Experience with native Android (Kotlin/Java) and/or iOS (Swift) development. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar). Exposure to digital gaming, iGaming, or other regulated technology sectors. Experience working with analytics, A/B testing, or in‑app experimentation tools. Why Join Smart State Inc.
