Staff Accountant
ASCENSION DEPAUL SERVICES
Job Summary: Staff accountant will assist with month - end close process, be responsible for all GL accounts reconciliations, accounts payable, and review payroll & other GL entries. Responsibilities:
- Understands and Manifests the Philosophy and Mission of ADSSA.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to general ledger.
- Prepare month end journal entries.
- Support all day-to-day accounting functions.
- Make all bank deposits (remote capture & in person).
- Manage all accounts payable related activities, such as entering invoices, cutting checks, reconciling 3-way matches, etc.
- Maintain fixed assets & prepaid expense schedules & process corresponding journal entries.
- Take on other related duties as required.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a deadline- driven environment.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business Administration, or 10 years of experience in GL Accounting.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and analytical skills.
- Valid Class C Driver's License
- OMB Head Start accounting experience a plus.
- Professional, good customer service skills and ability to keep information confidential
