About the Role
The Company is in search of an Assistant General Counsel with a focus on capital markets, broker-dealer, and FinTech. The successful candidate will be a key member of the legal team, providing both operational and strategic support. This role requires a J.D. degree, admission to the New York bar, and a minimum of 3 years' of legal experience, with at least 2 years' in a securities or capital markets practice group at a leading law firm. The Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including advising on U.S. securities laws and regulations, capital markets transactions, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in securities trading and financial markets, and the ability to monitor and analyze legal, regulatory, and policy developments in these areas. Key responsibilities for the Assistant General Counsel include collaborating with various business lines and departments, providing legal guidance on the operation of alternative trading systems, and managing regulatory obligations. The role also involves communication with regulatory bodies, supporting policy initiatives, and drafting a variety of legal documents. The candidate should have excellent legal judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with different teams. While not required, experience with trading operations, technology, digital assets, or global privacy and data protection laws is a plus.
